I created a cloth for a tea ceremony, dyed with underutilized natural dyes such as insect frass and thinned cedar wood. The fabric dyed with insect frass features a worm-eaten pattern, while the one dyed with cedar is designed with motifs of cedar branches and leaves, woven using the nuitori-ori (embroidered weaving) technique. The work explores the relationship between the dye materials and the woven patterns.
